This past festive season an email asking for applications for donations did the rounds.
Email recipients were asked to send (to a Gmail address) their nominations for charities to receive donations from the Nelson Mandela Foundation.
Once again, the Foundation urges people to watch out for these telltale signs of a scam, many of which were evident in the email:
- Poor spelling
- Poor grammar
- Unofficial email addresses
- Requests for personal information
