Nelson Mandela Foundation

Applications for members of the general public to attend the 16th Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture in partnership with the Motsepe Foundation will be open from Monday 28 May, the Nelson Mandela Foundation said on Thursday.

The lecture, to be delivered by former US President Barack Obama, will take place at Bidvest Wanderers Stadium in Illovo, Johannesburg, on 17 July 2018.

A link for applications will be published on the Nelson Mandela Foundation website home page (www.nelsonmandela.org) at the start of the South African business day on 28 May 2018.

Clicking on the link will generate a form that needs to be filled in and submitted electronically. Once the form is submitted, applicants will get an automated response via email informing them that their application has been received. This response is not an indication that the application has been successful.

Within approximately 24 hours of submitting the form, applicants will receive notification of whether their application has been successful. (Please check promotions folders and spam on your email if this is not received. There will be an email address made available when the application form is filled in that can be used for any trouble-shooting.)

From 21 June 2018, successful applicants will be able to fetch their tickets at Computicket outlets. Receipt of tickets will not be allowed without production of a valid identity document or a passport.

Please note that all costs incurred in attending the 16th Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture in partnership with the Motsepe Foundation are for attendees’ own accounts. The Nelson Mandela Foundation also cannot aid anyone with obtaining visas and other travel documents.
