The Nelson Mandela Foundation in partnership with the Green Development FoundationJohannesburg Water, and Johannesburg City Parks and Zoos invite you to an official Tree Planting Ceremony (Mogale City - Driefontein Wastewater Treatment Works) as part of joint Arbor Month Activities.

Part of the Nelson Mandela Foundation’s Mandela Day 2022 focus is planting 1 million fruit trees that not only combat the climate crisis and food insecurity, they also symbolise the intersection between Food Security and Climate Change.

We join the international community in recognising this year’s Arbor Month and its call to plant trees. The Foundation and its partners are also urging their stakeholders in the private and public sectors to heed the President’s call to contribute to the planting of 10 million trees within five years.

NB: A further tour of the treatment plant will be provided please wear closed comfortable shoes and a reflective vest/jacket.
