This resource is hosted by the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory, but was compiled and authored by Padraig O’Malley. It is the product of almost two decades of research and includes analyses, chronologies, historical documents, and interviews from the apartheid and post-apartheid eras.

Momoniat, Ismail

Momoniat was born into a politically aware family who were forced to move to Lenasia in 1965.

He was involved in setting up Residents Associations and in reviving the Transvaal Indian Congress. He joined the UDF in 1983.  In the late 1980s he became a critical link for Operation Vula in the Transvaal.

He was a member of the SACP and the MDM.
