1973. Aliens Control Act No 40

This enabled "the Government to exempt Indians from the need to obtain permits for travel between provinces, which was followed by an official announcement that permits were no longer necessary for such travel" (Dugard 1978: 72). See also the ADMISSION OF PERSONS TO THE UNION REGULATION ACT of 1913 and the ADMISSION OF PERSONS TO THE REPUBLIC REGULATION ACT of 1972.
