The 24-hour countdown to summit Mount Kilimanjaro by the end of Nelson Mandela International Day on Saturday has begun.
The Trek4Mandela climbers, including Morning Live's Leanne Manas and others, are expected to reach their destination on Mandela's birthday on Saturday.
The group is raising money to provide sanitary pads for local school students who don't have access to them.
The man behind this initiative is Richard Mabaso of the Imbumba Foundation, who is part of the team trying to reach the top of Kilimanjaro on Saturday. In the videos below, we are able to see more of what Leanne and the Trek4Mandela team are going.
