Nelson Mandela Foundation

An email scam that uses the Foundation’s name and claims the recipient has won a cash prize is doing the rounds again, 10 years after it first emerged.

The email, which purports to come from the Nelson Mandela Foundation, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the William J. Clinton Foundation, asks people to supply their personal details to claim their prize money.

The scam is a phishing exercise, aimed at the theft of personal identity, and should not be entertained in any way. The Foundation is not directly involved in the UNFCCC or the Clinton Foundation.
