Nelson Mandela Foundation CE Sello Hatang received the 2019 Culture of Peace Award from the Journalists and Writers Foundation (JWF) at a ceremony on the sidelines of this year's UN General Assembly in New York City on 25 September.
The JWF is an international civil society organisation dedicated to the culture of peace, human rights, and sustainable development.
The JWF promotes diversity and inclusion by creating forums for intellectual and social engagement, generates and shares knowledge with stakeholders, builds partnerships worldwide and develops policy recommendations for positive social change. The JWF bestows the Culture of Peace Award on individuals for their contribution to the global culture of peace within their work.
