The Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory and the United Nations invite you to cover the launch of the 4th Nelson Mandela International Day.
Nelson Mandela’s birthday, July 18, was recognised in 2009 by the United Nations as Nelson Mandela International Day.
The establishment of Nelson Mandela International Day followed Mr. Mandela’s call to the world on 27 June 2008 that we can all make a difference by doing good in our communities.
He said at a concert in Hyde Park, London, for his 90th birthday: “It is time for new hands to lift the burdens. It is in your hands now.”
