Nelson Mandela Foundation

In support of its efforts to fight the scourge of food insecurity in vulnerable communities and schools, the Nelson Mandela Foundation, in collaboration with NBA Africa, would like to invite you to cover the #Each1Feed1 distribution at Ikageng Youth and Children Centre in Orlando West, Soweto.

With the coronavirus pandemic continuing to wreak havoc in the most vulnerable communities locally and internationally, the challenge of food insecurity looms large. Accessing affordable nutritious food is a top priority for South Africa’s children, especially those living with HIV and AIDS and who are on Anti-Retroviral Treatment (ART). Ikageng provides beneficiaries with nutritious food parcels on a monthly basis, and has helped to create and run numerous nutritional gardens so that families can produce the food they need for themselves. Each1Feed1 is an emergency relief food delivery initiative that seeks to assist vulnerable communities across South Africa. It is a flagship project for the Foundation’s Mandela Day campaign. Supported by multiple institutional stakeholders, funders and the public, its anchor partners are the Kolisi Foundation and the Imbumba Foundation.
