In celebration of the legacy and memory of our icon and founding father of our democracy Nelson Mandela, the Gauteng City Region in partnership with the Nelson Mandela Foundation held the Nelson Mandela Remembrance Walk from Freedom Park to the Union Buildings via a number of historically significant sites.
The Nelson Mandela Remembrance Walk traced Madiba’s passage through Pretoria to his last resting place. The route of the walk, which started at 7:00am on Saturday, 13 December, commenced at Freedom Park and moved via Kgosi Mampuru Correctional services to Church Square via Lillian Ngoyi Square, and ended at the Union Buildings.
