The Nelson Mandela Foundation is marking the fourth anniversary of Madiba’s passing by sharing lessons learned from a legacy globally celebrated. Unthreading Mandela, the Mandela Centenary public exhibition, launches at the Foundation on 5 December 2017, allowing us to unpack the legacy.
The exhibition looks at Rolihlahla, Nelson, Mr Mandela, Comrade, Prisoner 46664, Mr President and Madiba, and gives us a chance to engage the persona of Mandela in its entirety.
In reflecting on the legacy of Nelson Mandela, we also look forward to his centennial year – 2018. The Nelson Mandela centenary will help us join hands in working to shift societal attitudes towards injustice, and encourage sustainable actions throughout the year.
In this we receive, as did Mandela, the baton of leadership from Oliver Tambo, whose centenary we celebrated in 2017.
