Mandela Day Project Analyst

Reports to: Mandela Day & Outreach Director

Responsibilities:

• In consultation with the Programme Director and project team, lead in conceptualising and implementation of the various projects within the Foundation that relate to Mandela Day 

• Identify, develop and support research and public policy projects

• Provide input to the development strategic intervention plans on key focus areas of the Mandela Day Programme

• Develop sustainable and high-impact interventions both at a high-level and a community level

• Implementation of small scale pilot projects to demonstrate best practice for informal Mandela Day Strategic Pillars

• Develop and maintain key stakeholders with non-governmental, community, state and private sectors. 

• Lead in the development of policy and practice recommendations based on Mandela Day interventions and through working with internal teams and experts 

• Oversee key events and processes 

• Maintain a database of stakeholders 

• Manage logistics and planning 

• Support and coordinate events and process  

• Maintain strategic monitoring and evaluation on interventions

• Implementation of small scale pilot projects to demonstrate best practice for informal Mandela Day Strategic Pillars.

• Collation of Integrated Report facilitated and coordinated

• Implement a resourcing plan for NMD Projects 

• Assist in documentation and write up for case study relating to projects

• Represent the Foundation - Mandela Day in various public and civil society meetings

• Financial and budget management as per delegation

 Requirements:

• A three year degree/diploma

• Appropriate experience may be considered in place of a degree or diploma

• Minimum of three years’ experience in research, sustainable programme interventions and content development

• A certificate or diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation in the NGO sector or a proven track record of M&E experience

• Previous work experience in the development sector will be an added advantage

• Conversant with key stakeholders, concepts and how they relate to the responsibilities of the job

• Analytical with strong writing ability and communication skills

• Computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

• Have a proactive approach to problem-solving

• Organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise time and work effectively

• Strong people skills with the ability to work under pressure

• Motivated, confident communicator with the ability to engage with people at all levels

• Pays attention to detail and displays a high level of integrity

• Ability to multi-task and is deadline-driven

• Ability to work independently as well as in a team

• Interpersonal skills with the ability to work across diverse cultural backgrounds

• Create, develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and external partners
