Programme
The Promise of Leadership will run for three days from March 19 to March 21, 2009. Sessions on March 19 will be open to African Leadership Initiative (ALI) members only. The venue for the dialogue is the Helderfontein Estate in Johannesburg.
The Promise of Leadership Programme Manager is Mothomang Diaho and the lead facilitator is Pat Pillai.
The programme we have put together will allow participants an opportunity to engage one another on topics such as social entrepreneurship, leadership rising from the ashes, human rights in Africa, the changing political landscape of South Africa and the rest of the continent, and our vision looking forward to Africa 2050.
Panellists will be asked to share their thoughts and experiences, and pose difficult questions for the participants to deliberate. Interactive dialogues will then take place at the tables, each hosted by a prominent leader. Participants will then be able to present their answers and suggested plans.
Each session will be moderated and recorded to capture the essence of the dialogue, with the aim of disseminating it for further promotion of leadership across the continent.
The programme also allows a space for networking, author signings and enjoying exhibitions of work by social entrepreneurs.
