1960. Unlawful Organizations Act No 24 or 34

Dugard (1978: 430) numbers this act 34, Dyzenhaus (1991: 45) numbers it 24.

This act, "after being rushed through both houses of Parliament" (Riley 1991: 69), "was introduced to enable the banning of the African National Congress and the Pan African Congress" (Dyzenhaus 1991: 45). See also under the GENERAL LAWS AMENDMENT ACT of 1962 with regard to the Rivonia Trial of 1963-64.
