1949. Prohibition of Mixed Marriages Act No 55

Contrary to everybody else, Dyzenhaus (1991: 41, note 22) dates this 1959, which is presumably a misprint.

This act forbade marriages between Whites and non-Whites (Christopher 1994: 104). It was amended in 1968, and repealed in 1986 (Price 1991: 116).
