23 March, 2012 – On behalf of our Founder, Chairman, Board of Trustees and staff, we would like to convey our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of John Payton, a champion of human rights and the husband of Gay McDougall, a long time friend of the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory.
Payton passed away yesterday at the age of 65. His contribution towards building a non-racial and just society will never be forgotten. We wish his family and friends strength during this trying time.
