The countdown to Nelson Mandela International Day 2012 has begun. On 18 July individuals and organisations around the world will spend at least 67 minutes doing good work in their own communities in honour of the 67 years Nelson Mandela gave in service and sacrifice.

Mandela Day is about inspiration. Individuals are inspired to take action, communities join together to empower themselves and those they live with, and people around the world spread the word and the philosophy: “Take action, inspire change, make every day a Mandela Day.”

The official Mandela Day website now proudly hosts an online portal that will allow any interested people or groups to register and upload events taking place in honour of Nelson Mandela's birthday.
