The ground-breaking isiZulu feature film, Yesterday, which received South Africa’s first Oscar Nomination, has now received South Africa’s first-ever Emmy Nomination in the “Outstanding Made For Television Movie” category, it was announced in Los Angeles this afternoon.

The HIV infection rate in persons aged two years and older is estimated to be 10.8%, with a higher rate in females (13.3%) than in males (8.2%). HIV prevalence among young adults in the 15 to 49 age group increased slightly from 15.6% in 2002 to 16.2% in 2005, which may be an indication that the epidemic in the general population of South Africa has entered a phase of levelling off.
