Foundation extends condolences to family of Nat Bregman

Bregman was Mr Mandela’s ‘first white friend’

21 July, 2011 — On behalf of our Founder, Chairperson, Board of Trustees and staff, we extend our deep condolences to the family and friends of Nat Bregman who passed away in hospital, last night at the age of 88.

Mr Bregman shared an office with Mr Mandela for three years in the early 1940s at Johannesburg attorneys Sidelksy, Witkin and Eidelman, where they did their articles together.

Sensational singers set to entertain at 2011 annual lecture

20 July, 2011 — Listening to the vocal collaborations of Christopher Vale, Katleho Mogase and Phenye Modiane is sure to bring on goose bumps. These talented musicians, each at different stages of their respective degrees at the University of Pretoria, will be led by Paul Ferreira on piano and provide entertainment at the ninth annual lecture at the Nelson Mandela Foundation.

Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Côte d’Ivoire to support Mandela Day 2011

18 July, 2011 – In order to make a maximum impact on Mandela Day, the Embassy of South Africa in Côte d’Ivoire and other volunteers identified a community health centre in Abobo, Avocatier Village, called “Union pour la Gestion de la Formation Sanitaire d’Abobo-Avocatier”, which had been damaged during the recent crisis and is in need of serious rehabilitation.
