Donors recognised at the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory
Legacy Champion certificates awarded

Last night the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory hosted a donor recognition ceremony. Centre Trustees, Minister of Human Settlements Tokyo Sexwale and Irene Menell, gave Legacy Champion certificates to the Government of India and Vodacom (Pty) Ltd. The Government of India was also recognised for its contribution to the Centre’s building with the unveiling of a plaque at the front entrance.

On 23 February, 2012 former President Bill Clinton hosted a benefit in his private office in New York to honour the lasting legacy of Nelson Mandela. The event marked the launch of a Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory initiative to promote the Mandela legacy globally in the years ahead.

The Department of Basic Education in partnership with the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory, Brand South Africa and several partners in education on Tuesday 10 April 2012 launched the 94+ Schools Infrastructure Project as part of International Mandela Day in Houghton, Johannesburg.
Mandela Day is marked across the world on July 18 every year to inspire every person to take action to help change the world for the better and in doing so, build a global movement for good.
