On 14 December, 2014 the Nelson Mandela Foundation hosted a special event, with guest speakers Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe and daughter of the late Bram Fischer, Ilse Fischer.
At a time when Mandela is being accorded an almost messianic status the world over, it is people like Fischer Wilson and Deputy President Motlanthe who are left to remind us of the other faces of Madiba – the faces that reveal that he was indeed a just a man who did great things through the collective he was a part of. He was one of those who led the fight, our fight for identity and freedom.Read more

On 15 December 2013, engines roared at their loudest outside the Nelson Mandela Foundation as Bikers for Madiba, joined by several cyclists, rode to the Union Buildings via the Palace of Justice to show their last sign of respect for the fallen world icon.Read more

“Economic emancipation in Africa in building social cohesion” was the topic at the Business in Dialogue event held on 16 August at the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory.
The event, hosted by the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory and Audi South Africa, was attended by about 100 top business and thought leaders from South Africa, and was a conversation about rebuilding social cohesion on the continent.Read more
