Nelson Mandela International Day 2011
March 28, 2011– Today marks the launch of the 2011 Nelson Mandela International Day at the Foundation’s offices in Houghton, Johannesburg. Mandela Day was inaugurated in 2009 on Nelson Mandela’s birthday – 18 July. It is a call to action for people everywhere to take responsibility for making the world a better place, one small step at a time, just as Nelson Mandela did.

November 30, 2010 – According to new research by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), Sub-Saharan Africa has made immense progress in addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
Help make Nelson Mandela’s retirement peaceful
November 11, 2010 – Nelson Mandela receives at least 4 000 messages a month from people throughout the world. Many of these pay tribute to Mr Mandela and wish him well in his retirement. However, there are just as many requests: for his signature, a message of support, a public appearance or an interview. There are also continued injunctions for him to intervene in struggles around the world, and to endorse various causes.

July 30, 2010 – Spending time with abandoned babies and toddlers at an orphanage is something that I have not done since my university days. I am ashamed to admit that, but the Mandela Day campaign was an awesome opportunity to serve my community and spread love where it’s needed most.
