April 28, 2010 – Nelson Mandela: The Authorized Comic Book produced by Umlando wezithombe in association with the Nelson Mandela Foundation has been announced as the winner of a prestigious award for children’s literature.

February 9, 2010 – February 11, 2010, marks the 20th anniversary of Nelson Mandela’s release from prison. As one of modern history’s most famous leaders, his career has, for decades, been the subject of many an editorial cartoon.
Zapiro leaves his mark
November 19, 2008 – An exhibition of cartoons of Nelson Mandela by Zapiro has opened as the last of six exhibitions to commemorate Mr Mandela’s 90th birthday celebrations.
The Nelson Mandela Foundation’s CEO, Achmat Dangor, launched the exhibition at the Foundation offices. Jonathan Shapiro (Zapiro) talked about his interactions with Madiba, both in print and in person.
Food and comics tell Mr Mandela’s story

The Nelson Mandela Foundation and Umlando Wezithombe Publishing have released the eagerly anticipated seventh comic in the eight-part Madiba Legacy Series.
Comic series showcased at information congress
The Nelson Mandela Foundation and Umlando showcased the successful Madiba Legacy Comic Series at the World Library and Information Congress held in Durban, South Africa, in August.
