The Nelson Mandela Speeches database consists of interviews, speeches, addresses, messages, media releases, testimony, lectures, toasts, tributes, oaths and declarations made by Nelson Mandela.
These encompass all of the roles that Mr Nelson Mandela filled both before and during his retirement. The speeches range from the 1950s to the present.
This is an ongoing exercise as we continually identify additional speeches made by Mr Mandela. Every speech is verified prior to accessioning.
Therefore, this database serves as a source for accurate quotations by Mr Mandela, with the added contextualisation of his full remarks.
