Men of Dynamite launched at event in Newtown
March 1, 2010 – Men of Dynamite: Pen Portraits of MK Pioneers was launched at the Sci-Bono Centre in Newtown, Johannesburg, last Wednesday, February 24.
Cyril Ramaphosa’s address at opening of Nelson Mandela exhibitions
February 17, 2010 – Two major exhibitions, Mandela: Character, comrade, leader, prisoner, negotiator, statesman; and Drawing on Madiba by Zapiro, opened at the Iziko Museums’ Slave Lodge in Cape Town on February 10, 2010, on the eve of the 20th anniversary of Nelson Mandela’s release from prison, on February 11, 1990.
Sowetans treated to a documentary at Free at Last Film Festival in commemoration of Nelson Mandela
February 12, 2010 – To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Nelson Mandela’s release from prison after 27 years, Maponya Mall, together with Ster Kinekor, hosted Soweto residents, of all ages, as they viewed the documentary, Mandela son of Africa, father of a nation. This documentary covers the life and times of Mr Mandela, from birth to South Africa’s first democratic election in 1994, and his life as a president of South Africa.
